July 2013 || A Vacation in Connecticut
This has been a wonderful week away from the office. And a wonderful few weeks spent with family and friends. It’s nice to get out and stretch your legs & your heart a bit.
In a way, vacation was a tad bitter sweet. We had originally planned to take some time and go to Florida with my family, but for a myriad of reasons, the trip didn’t work out for us. But we were there in spirit none-the-less and made up for the lack of an actual destination with a multitude of local activities instead.
We wrapped up the June weekend with a 70th wedding anniversary party for E’s Grandparents. We were told not to miss this event, because 70 years of love isn’t something the Jones’ take very lightly. [more on this later. I’m hoping for the group photo to arrive soon.]
We spent nights in a camper with the rain falling down on us, I spent a few mornings lingering in bed watching the Today show, there were days by the pool and evenings at our local gastropub and lots of time well spent on the porch with the pup.
They say time flies when you are having fun. Ain’t that the truth. I can’t believe it’s already Monday again and here we are back in the office.
At least there is a cold bottle of rose in the fridge for later.
Happy Monday & in some cases welcome back!
